HAHA studio, in collaboration with DinellJohansson Arkitekter, was commissioned to design and produce a series of wall lamps for the newly opened restaurant Sperling & Co in Stockholm. This bespoke lighting was produced in a limited series of 75 units, specifically developed for Stureplansgruppen and the interior of Sperling & Co. All production was carried out locally in Sweden.

Process

By combining textile elements with polished aluminium, the aim was to create a piece that pays homage to the historical use of textiles as lampshades, while introducing a contemporary expression through high-polished metal surfaces.

Result

The lamp is a petite, playful light fixture that gives out a warming glow. Its compact size makes it suitable for both intimate and larger hospitality spaces, while the soft light supports a comfortable dining atmosphere. Designed specifically for Sperling & Co, the lamp balances decorative appeal with practical illumination.

The result is a lamp that does not immediately reveal its time period of production and design, blurring the boundaries between past and present.
